Xavier Mission
Xavier Mission is a FOR-IMPACT organization providing basic services as well as opportunities for empowerment and self-sufficiency to New Yorkers in need. We prefer the term “for-impact” rather than “non-profit”, as we would rather be defined by what we DO than what we don’t do.
Since 1983, Xavier Mission has welcomed, served, and empowered our guests with dignity and respect. Founded by the Church of St. Francis Xavier, in 2012 we became an independent, secular, for-impact organization. Today, Xavier Mission operates five community outreach programs that provide a continuum of services to those facing difficult times.
Each individual program provides an opportunity for our guests to take a step towards achieving safety, stability, and self-sufficiency, and works in collaboration with our other programs to offer holistic care and support.

1-12th Street
Brooklyn New York 11215
An amazing nonprofit organization, the Big Reuse has an enormous impact on New York helping to make it a more vibrant and sustainable city. Your donations/gifts allow them to provide programs that teach New Yorkers to care for their own green infrastructure, transform people’s ideas of reuse, strengthen the resiliency of our neighborhoods and empower communities to embrace composting at a grassroots level.
Big Reuse works with businesses, organizations and individuals of all sizes to accept materials at scale. Please select the appropriate category or review their donation guidelines first:
Donate Materials to Big Reuse.
Smaller items like hardware, books, clothing, electronics and home goods can be dropped
off 7 days a week, 10am to 5pm at their Brooklyn location at 112th Street, Brooklyn New York 11215.
They encourage you to fill out their donation form for large appliances, furniture, etc. so they
can determine if they can accept/pick up the item(s). Donated items must be in good condition.
Donation form: Donor Inquiry – Big Reuse
If they come to the Bronx, they prefer your donation fill half a small box truck. If it is only one
item, they most likely will not pick it up, but if they are in the Bronx area and are picking up
something else there - you can try to make arrangements with them to pick up your one item.
They prefer high-end goods for when they pick up. Or, if your donation is a very high-end item
like a Garland/Viking stove or a Carlyle sofa, and you fill out the donation form, they will let you
know if they will be able to pick up the one item.
To help support the Big Reuse you can make a monetary donation, shop at their store (located
