Ark Haven
An eco-friendly group working on making community gardens that work as homeless shelters. Led by Damion Lopez Ark Haven performs 1-act play dressed in costume teaching kids different elements that come from nature such as: proper breathing techniques while in nature, how to use leaves and twigs to create art and how to use herbs to heal and refresh our bodies.
Boogie Down Bronx Honey
Sean Flynn is the Bee Guy! He is dedicated to educating children and adults on why beekeeping is an important skill to know about. He also set up an apiary at Kingsbridge Heights Community Center in addition to his other apiaries. Flynn often travels with a demonstration hive and engages kids by dressing in his famous bee costume and teaching them all about the Waggle Dance! www.bronxhoney.com
Bruce's Garden
Nestled in Isham Park, Bruce’s Garden is a thriving sanctuary for pollinators and people alike. Established in 1970 by the Reynolds family as the Wild and Woodland Garden, it now stands as a living memorial to their son, Bruce Reynolds, a Port Authority Police Officer who gave his life in service on 9/11. The garden is a vibrant community space featuring active beehives, native plantings, and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship. Under the direction of Aaron Scott, Bruce’s Garden serves as a hub for arts, culture, and education—offering music performances, workshops, and nature based learning programs for all ages. Friends of Spuyten Duyvil
Members of Friends of Spuyten Duyvil is led by Jodie Colon, founder and lead steward, who is also involved in The Street Habitat Project. Friends is focused on creating and restoring habitats and protecting native plants in Henry Hudson and Spuyten Duyvil Shore Front Parks.

The Enchanted Garden at Kennedy High School
The Garden, established in the 70’s, is a one acre oasis in front of Kennedy High School in the Bronx tended primarily by students and teachers. It includes a natural area, wetland, orchard, and about a dozen raised beds for veggies and herbs. Plant Native Northwest Bronx
PNNWB sign up residents who would like their homes and apartment buildings to be a part of our Local Pollinator Map. They often distribute Northeast Native Wildflowers and plants in exchange for a donation and teach how to create native plant boxes for your apartment window, terrace or garden.

The Fieldston Garden Apartments and the Home Grown National Park

The Inwood Butterfly Sanctuary
Keith and Adriana De Cesares' mission is to create awareness and highlight their concern for the endangered Monarch Butterfly, a pollinator that may become extinct in our lifetime. They will also have 32 small milkweed plants to give away. Milkweed is the required host plant for the Monarch Butterfly caterpillar. Please donate to support their essential work here
The Island Garden of Riverdale
This magical green space located in a narrow lane between Blackstone and Independence Avenue (south of 239th Street) is the product of one person’s vision and dedication. Susan Landgraf founder and gardener has been tending this small space since 2009.
The James Baldwin Outdoor Learning Center

Riverdale Neighborhood House
Made up of a teaching garden, pollinator garden, community fridge and community gathering space, the Riverdale Neighborhood House Food & Farm Hub is a space for all neighbors. Through educational programs and community outreach, the Food & Farm Hub is dedicated to building a more equitable food system— one that balances the immediate food, health, and economic needs of neighbors with the long-term demand for community resilience.

The Van Cortlandt Park Alliance

The Riverdale-Yonkers Society for Ethical Culture
The Riverdale-Yonkers Society for Ethical Culture is a humanistic community located in the Riverdale neighborhood of the Bronx, New York. RYSEC has embarked on a long-term project to remove many of the invasive plants on the property and replace them with native plants so that pollinators, butterflies, and other creatures important to the ecosystem will be welcome here.
