MLK Jr. Day at Vladeck Hall featured a local chorus, directed by Cheryl Warfield of the Manhattan Opera Repertory Ensemble (M.O.R.E.), performing songs from the Civil Rights Movement. The event offered a meaningful moment to reflect on Dr. King’s legacy and the unifying power of music.

Councilman Eric Dinowitz, whose office sponsored the concert, said in remarks following the performance. “I am spiritually moved by music. It is the universal language of hope whether across the world or your backyard.” Then he joined the group in singing “This Little Light of Mine”.

This week, Art for AID will donate to M.O.R.E. in honor of their inspiring community work strengthening us through song.
