"I investigated this organization
(Art For AID) and found it had made a profound effect
on feeding the hungry."

Bob Rubenstein, The Riverdale Press

SPRING!

The Sunday Market is expected to return to its usual location in the parking lot of the Riverdale Temple on Sunday, April 27th. Till then, we look forward to seeing you on the back patio of the Riverdale Y!

We are a pop-up recycle your stuff club run by seniors since 2015, who have raised over $35,000 and directed all of it to local community needs, as well as responded to national and international disasters. We create awareness and seek to connect our community to humanitarian aid wherever it exists. We also believe in building our community service efforts through an intergenerational lens.

Recently we have created two social action projects:

The Farmer to Fridge Network recovers the excess fresh produce that our farmers bring to our weekly market and donates it to our local food pantries and mutual aid fridges.

The Pollinator Pathway Project brings together local groups interested in installing and maintaining native plant gardens, supporting sustainable land practices and limiting the use of pesticides benefiting threatened butterfly and insect populations.
